    One of the greatest joys in my days (besides my own children) is hearing from a mom brought to tears by her images, a bride who years later still treasures her images. This is what keeps both my clients and me coming back time and time again.

    It's very important to me to form special relationships with my clients so that I can do my job even better - the more relaxed you are with me, the easier it is to get perfect pictures!

Announcing a new mini-session for my favorite subjects!

Pregnant Mama’s and their newborns!

With such a great response to my special I am now extending it through September!

I love photographing pregnancy and newborns.  I truly believe that every pregnant woman needs to see their bodies as a beautiful, sacred vessel and  want to give them the experience of capturing that beauty to share with their child in the future.

Newborns are irresistible – I know very few people who don’t love pictures of squishy sleeping newborns.  They’re amazing, precious, innocent… perfect!  I love creating images of the squishy little people – they make my heart smile!

Because of my passion for photographing these two subjects, I want to offer it to EVERYONE.  So from now until Mother’s Day, May 9th, 2010 September 30th, 2010 I am offering a new maternity & newborn mini-session in my studio in Lincoln, RI.

For $120 you get both sessions for a minimum of 1 hour each.  As you know my session fee is normally $120 a session – so this is 50% off.  Maternity sessions should be scheduled between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy and be at a location of your choice.  Newborn sessions should be scheduled within the first 2 weeks of baby arriving home and will occur in the studio.

Do you know a mom who is pregnant but not due until later in the summer?  Do you know a mom who is hoping to be pregnant soon?  They can order a gift certificate based on this special and use it when their time comes!

{Rhode Island Photographer} Family and Newborn Photographer: Baby Overload!

There are a few times where I really struggle with the title for a blog post.  This time, however, it was quite easy.  I think this post contains the MOST pictures ever – which is fitting because the prior winner was this beautiful families maternity session!

This little princess was about 10 days old when she came in for her first photo shoot and was pretty wide awake the first half – never fussy, really easy, laid back baby:)  The… she fell asleep!  This gave me plenty of time to get those precious newborn shots that her parents would love!  I love these pictures and they are making a great finish to the maternity and newborn album they ordered – it’ll be a wonderful way to document this little ones entry to the world:)

One thing I’ve learned from being a mom is that more often than not the kids ‘run the show’!  This simple revelation has helped me immensely as a child photographer – I’ve had to learn to just roll with what the kids bring.

This adorable little lady definitely gave us all a workout!  Her parents knew how to roll with it so we all had a fun time.  Mom is expecting #2 any time now and then they’ll really have their hands full!

I had the great pleasure of photographing this fun brother/sister plan a few weeks ago.  Their mom was so excited for the session and I was so happy the weather was cooperating!

We met at Waterplace Park in Providence.  These kids made my job easy – they had lots of fun ideas and poses – so we rolled with it and came out with some great images!

{Rhode Island Photographer} Child First Communion Photographer: A horse of a different color

You’re probably wondering about the title for this post:  “A horse of a different color”.  Coined by Shakespeare in Twelfth Night – it was used to describe the sameness between two things.  This session is a first communion session, but not… it’s “A horse of a different color”.

I met with this gorgeous young lady and her (camera shy LOL ) parents at Roger Williams park for, what would turn out to be, the most picturesque session I’ve had this year.  Mom told me she was looking for a first communion session but warned me that it took ‘a lot of convincing’ to get her daughter in a dress, let alone the traditional white dress.  They wanted pictures as unique as their daughter – I was SO excited for this session because I love getting out of my comfort zone, especially with people willing to stretch the limits!

When I arrived I was very happy to see a beautiful young girl with hair most pay lots of money for, sparkly sneakers and a fun ‘let’s have a blast!’ attitude.  When I got home and downloaded the cards I was so excited because I got images that I love.  Problem with that is that it’s not always images that my clients love… so I waited patiently for the presentation session and was so happy when mom bought many of my favorite images including a ’sun flare’ shot that will be printed on metal – how cool is that?  Seriously… awesome!

{Rhode Island Photographer} Family Photographer: The family that plays together…

About a month ago I had the great pleasure of photographing Liz and her family at Roger Williams Park in Providence.  Looking at these pictures now I really appreciate how stunning the green grass/trees are – since them we’ve had very little rain and now everything is very crispy and brown.  Lucky for Liz though – her pictures are stunning!  … and not just for the scenery!  They are beautiful people, inside and out too!  Her little girl was such a joy to photograph, she was so excited to pose and be a part of the session – I love that!
