{Rhode Island Photographer} Newborn Photographer: Pictures of Hope Foundation

DeCesari Photography is pleased to announce that I am also a member of the Pictures of Hope Foundation!  I am also the only member in Rhode Island.

What is the Pictures of Hope Foundation?

Pictures of Hope is a charitable organization of professional photographers who provide complimentary, documentary-style, photography sessions to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their families.  The Pictures of Hope Foundation is comprised of photographers (many of whom are “NICU mothers” themselves) from across the United States and Canada who are dedicated to donating their time to a cause they believe in, and sharing the gift of photography with families in need.

Why Pictures of Hope?
Throughout pregnancy most parents don’t anticipate the possibility of their baby needing to stay in the NICU after birth. Whatever that reason may be, time spent in the NICU is often an unexpected journey for families, a journey full of overwhelming emotions…sadness, confusion, hope, celebration, and unfortunately, at times grief. Throughout this roller coaster of emotions, many parents do not consider the importance of documenting these precious moments in their lives nor do they think about how much they will truly cherish these images years down the road. In some cases, a little extra TLC from the NICU is needed to be sure the little one gets off to the best possible start, for these families on the road to well being, photographs are a wonderful reminder of just how far their little one has come, however, photographs also play a necessary and very important role in the healing process for other families. In the most heart breaking circumstances, photos may be the only tangible keepsakes some parents have of their precious little one. All Pictures of Hope participating photographers are dedicated to providing NICU families with invaluable images you will cherish forever, captured in a sensitive and caring manner.

Personal Touch

My oldest daughter, Arianna, was born at 28 weeks and spent many many weeks in the NICU at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence.  It was a heart breaking but powerful experience.  It brought my family closer together and has given me a great respect for what my daughter has overcome in her short life.  I want all families to be able to have memories of this time – to look back on, to see just how far their son or daughter has come!

If you know someone that has a child(ren) in the NICU and would enjoy a complimentary photo session, please have them contact me:  401.286.1949 or jennifer@decesariphotography.com

{Rhode Island Photographer} Newborn Photographer: The King has arrived!

This adorable little man arrived at my studio during a baby boom – 4 newborns in 3 days!  I’ll admit it was exhausting, but BOY was it fun!  I had a great time and we got some really great images!  His mom is so beautiful in all the pictures – not fair!  I looked like a wreck after each of my kids!  And Dad?  Ya, model material – just check him out! WOW!  This is one lucky kid, he’s hitting the jackpot as far as ‘good looks’ genes are concerned!

It’s always a treat to get a baby that sleeps during their session because it gives me a chance to create some cute little poses… but this little man even let us pose him when he wasn’t sleeping!  Check him out- lounging on my little blue couch – he knows he’s the king!  And the last shot is one of my personal favorites – just a subtle reminder that, yes, they still run the show!

I’d love the chance to create this high quality of work for you too!  Contact me to check availability or to purchase a gift certificate:  401.286.1949 or jennifer@decesariphotography.com

{Rhode Island Photographer} Newborn Photographer: The flower princess

I got a call from this little cuties mom about 10 days before her session – I knew I had to fit her in, I love newborn sessions!  Little miss is a little older than I normally advocate for typical newborn sessions.  She is 4 weeks old in these pictures and I normally like to get newborns younger than 2 weeks – 10 days is preferrable.  But that was one reason why I knew I needed to fit her in – I don’t normally get to shoot this age and was looking forward to the challenge!

And, a challenge it was – she wasn’t sleepy in the slightest and not at all happy about being away from mom – who could blame her?  Mommy is the best place for baby!

Even with the challenges she did give me some great eye contact and hillarious little expressions – very expressive little girl!  I had so much fun!  And I’m even more glad that mom and dad loved the images as well, that makes all the work worth it! :)

Newborns are best conducted prior to two weeks but if your newborn is older than that, don’t miss the chance to get pictures, no matter the age!  Babies are only small once and you don’t want to miss the chance to get portraits!  Contact me today to schedule your session!  401 286 1949 or jennifer@decesariphotography.com

{Rhode Island Photographer} Family and Newborn Photographer: Baby Overload!

There are a few times where I really struggle with the title for a blog post.  This time, however, it was quite easy.  I think this post contains the MOST pictures ever – which is fitting because the prior winner was this beautiful families maternity session!

This little princess was about 10 days old when she came in for her first photo shoot and was pretty wide awake the first half – never fussy, really easy, laid back baby :)   The… she fell asleep!  This gave me plenty of time to get those precious newborn shots that her parents would love!  I love these pictures and they are making a great finish to the maternity and newborn album they ordered – it’ll be a wonderful way to document this little ones entry to the world :)

Do you know someone expecting a baby?  A gift certificate for a free session is a wonderful gift and I would love to provide that service!  Call me and I’ll answer any questions you have:  4o1 286 1949
